Prince Snow Farm

Every Day is a Journey

The snow reminded me of the beauty and mystery of creation, of the essential joy that is life.
— Orhan Pamuk

Thank you for joining me on my journey.

Snow fell, covering our world in white. Nothing was left untouched, as the fields and woods and houses were safely tucked under Mother Nature's protective blanket.

The roof top snow slowly melted, coating leaf filled gutters with icy streams.

Drip. Drip. Drip.
Slowly and with great purpose, the overflowing gutter dropped its excess to the world below.

The white Rose of Sharon Hibiscus sat beneath, dressed only in her winter coat of stark gray…dainty branches the same hue as the (untouchable) stars in a chilly sky.

Slowly, and with great purpose, she was encased in sparkle. A glittery coat of ice encased her branches. She was hauntingly beautiful in the moonlight, and gave the Juncos and Titmouse a skating rink perch by day.

Yet ultimately, that which brought such beauty to her bare branches,  could also be her demise....and so her ice encrusted branches were cleared to preserve her beauty.

And there she sits, awaiting the next storm, storing energy in her roots and branches,
preparing to share her beauty with the world when the time is right.
