This was one of my favorite campgrounds. We fished and enjoyed the scenery. My husband built this little peaceful tower of rocks. The rocks were so smooth from the river that they were very slippery. People were boating in the wider areas, or fishing near us. It was great to not have a care in the world.
Thanks to all of my loyal followers for hanging on while I was gone! We spent 20 days in an RV traveling across the United States. We saw 15 states...in 20 days.
It was a whirlwind...a fabulous one. It was a tight squeeze...my husband and I, our 6 and 11 year olds, and my in-laws :)....but somehow we managed!
We were without A/C until almost the last night. I think we hit every heat wave in the country. I have never sweat so much in my life. Our shower wasn't working either :(...so we had to use campground showers. Flip flops and organization were a must.
Laundry for 4 on the road is also interesting. I don't believe in recycling clothing, so I did a LOT of laundry on the road.
We drove a lot everyday, past cornfields, and soy fields, and canola fields(how cool)..past cows and horses, past fields of grain as far as the eye can see. We stopped at places like Little Big Horn, Mt. Rushmore, Cathedral of St. Paul...and we spent 5 days in Iowa where our son participated in the Outdoor Archery Nationals.
Please enjoy the photos...glad to be back! I'll post a few more each day this week.
