Well, it's Friday!
You made it.
And I did too!
Stand tall, be proud.
Open houses, golf pickups, soccer practices....
Laundry and dishes...the mandatory stuff....
Ok, and I did try my hand at fried chicken one night!
I forgot to sign the kids up for CCD...we realized the soccer cleats
were sizes too small right before practice.
But on a cheerier note, I picked the FIRST tomatoes of the season. Yes, in September.
Eight big, juicy beauties.
Last summer I had literally picked hundreds.
Now if September cooperates, I may be eating tomatoes until Halloween!
Last night I saw 2 young bucks under the apple tree at dusk.
They were so beautiful.
Yesterday after soccer I walked down to the garden with my son and we
photographed the zinnias.
It was nice to have 5 peaceful minutes with my freshman in high school.
And, I have a VERY sweet class at school.
I doubt very much that I will see 9:00pm on the clock tonight.
But my dreams will be sweet, as a hint of autumn
brushes across my pillow.
I look forward to a weekend of catch-up.....a soccer game,
more laundry, hopefully a bit of gardening, maybe a Starbuck's pumpkin latte,
and best of all, family.
I hope you are all making a smooth transition if you are back to school,
or homeschool, or retirement (you know who you are).
Take the time in the midst of the chaos to enjoy the last
glimpses of summer....
....to plan for the seasons to come....
.....to chase your hopes and dreams.
