First

 I know I've posted
photos of the lighthouse before...

but I have a confession....

I dropped my son at Faith Formation and
took the loop by...

I couldn't resist the sky!

And the light was flashing!!

So here's the confession...I
have lived here for 15 years...

ONE mile from the lighthouse...

and I have NEVER seen the light on.
EVER.

Til Now!

And I am Sooooo happy.

It made me feel like I was
visiting a special, sacred ground...

No one was there!
Just me and the light...

majestic...

safekeeper...

full of hope and promise...

inspiration....

And just because....a blue still life of sea trinkets....

....and an Easter display.

  2. okay three's a charm! This is the third time I've tried commenting and my internet keeps giving out! I LOVE. LOVE. this post. You are a kindred spirit;)) Those pics are stunning, and from your phone?! Don't you just love the moody sky? I can almost hear and feel the wind, the crunch of the gravel as you rounded the bend, the smell of the sea. There's is something about light-houses, exactly what you said. Thank-you for sharing with in-lander/sea-lovers like me!

  4. Mama grew up in Bath, Maine, (she was born on PEI). Not far from Bath is Popham Beach and there's a lighthouse there. When Mama died two years ago we needed to choose a headstone. Those polished marble, cold looking ones just weren't our Mama. We chose a plain boulder and had the Popham Beach lighthouse etched into it with the Bible verse, "You are my light and salvation". There is something special about lighthouses, isn't there?

  6. What a fantastic photo my dear. I will ever forget my first trip to New England many years ago, when we moved to Massachusetts from Los Angeles! We went to Maine and took a photo next to a lighthouse; it was MAGIC. This one is just gorgeous!

Wishing you a lovely Easter! Anita

  8. There's an historical house in our town that I've never seen, even after 15 years! Most of the touristy stuff we save for when we have visitors. If I lived close to a lighthouse, I'd want to visit too.
