After 43 years on this Earth, and 13 years of marriage, I received the BEST surprise. I came home one afternoon and my husband had built me a swing and had hung it from my favorite Maple tree. You sit on the swing, back up, then let go...YAhoooooooo...swinging out over the hill is exhilarating. I LOVE it.
What a fabulous husband you have!
ReplyDeleteI'd love a swing! Hmm... we have a large oak out back...
Have a swinging good time!
Hi
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, I don't think I have commented before but I just had to comment about the swing. What fun!
What a wonderful surprise! There are just some things that make us happy, just like my picket fence! Enjoy this special gift!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever read the poem; The Swing, by Robert Louis Stevenson? It's wonderful. My Mother was a school teacher and she always read this to me when I was young. I think you will like it! I loved to swing and still do!
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely and positively romantic!
ReplyDeleteThanks for checking out my surprise bloggers.
ReplyDeleteSarah/Sassy:You're right, he is pretty awesome.
Caryn:Thanks for commenting...I'm looking forward to catching up on your blog!
Kathy: You're right...Life's simple pleasures.
Prep: I have read the poem, in fact I have a little book of poetry from when I was a kid that I keep on my daughter's bookshelf...complete with Holly Hobbie bookmark...and it has the poem!
Peramb: I agree, but can't tell my husband that, he would NEVER take me seriously!
Ooooh - yay! My husband built a swing for me when we were -- dare I say -- courting. Definitely won me over even though I was already completely signed up. Unfortunately it hasn't been put up in our backyard. And mine isn't meant for a tree so I LOVE seeing yours!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. What a sweetie.
I love it! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHow WONDERFUL!
